When we got there we had a snack then we started our games at about 11.30

Fun with sign language

On the 16 of May a Deaf Advisor came to our classroom. Her name was Keri and she was teaching us sign language. The first thing she did was asked us what we already new in sign language. A few people said things from our Swinging on a star song. Then she showed us the alphabet. Now 95% of our class can do our name off by heart. Then a lot of us discovered 'my' and 'name'. This is my in sign language. Put your middle and pointer finger pointing at the sky. Put your fingers next to your forehead and drag them out. Then she showed us numbers. I thought they were very tricky to start but I got them right away. She then showed us color and we sung a song about rainbows and sign language it was called sing a rainbow. Sing a rainbow was tricky to start. Thank you for reading.

Rippa Rugby

RIPPER RUGBY WAS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Especially when Zak's team got 8 and the other team got1. My team won all of our games except one of our games we got a draw. We enjoyed our day out because we won and it was fun and trying my best. Antonnio almost scored a goal!! It was a fun day out and we all can't wait until next year to play again.

Our visit from the Deaf Advisor.

A few weeks ago we had a surprise visit from Kerrie, a Deaf Advisor.
She taught us some very interesting sign language.

We learnt numbers, the alphabet and colours and some signs to help Alfie and Beau to know what we are saying.
With the colours we knew she taught us a song called," I can sing a rainbow."
We went around the class and Kerrie gave us a word that we had to sign what we thought it was.
She gave us a I am deaf booklet and a card that had the alphabet and some pieces of paper the had the signs we learnt on them so we could practice sign language in our spear time.
Alfie and Beau learnt what the signs were so if we needed to talk too them they can use sign language.

Kerrie said... " We have really great listening skills and she wants to return again soon."

Crazy Puppet,s Room 6

Our Topic for this term was Make me a...
Puppet.
We had to design and create puppet's.
We had to think up which puppet's we were going to make and then make them. We only had a week to make them. room 6 made some amazing puppet's and every one enjoyed doing them. Some people even learnt how to sew. every one tried there best at making them . After our week was over most of us had finished our puppet so we were on to doing our draft writing we had to write down how to make the puppet we made. This took us a while but we have finished in the end. And every one who came in loved looking at them and now our puppets are hanging up on our wall.
