Mind-Blowing Big Day Out!!!

3, 2,1 Blast off - we were off to Quinney's Bush. Off for a day of fun, challenges and taking risks. We had a brilliant day. We went on lots of exciting activities.
The river swim - there was a slippery slide that was really high where we flew into some very cold water.
The BMX Track - We bounced around the tracks doing jumps, in and out of high trees and going round in circles. Phoebe fell off her bike and hurt her leg :o( We slipped and slide round the corners.
The Water Slide - it was very slippery and high off the ground. We went really fast as we rapidly speed down it. People lost their mats along the way. At the end of the slide there was a big monster mouth but no-body made it that far instead everyone finished at the deep pool fulled with warm water.
The Flying Fox - we zipped down to the end where we hit a tyre. When we were sitting at the end of the flying fox it felt like we were on a swing. Some people stood up, sat down backwards and forwards.
The Tiring Ob course - We climbed over walls and ladders. There were spinning things that made you very dizzy when you got off and this made walking difficult. We had to try and walk along some ropes and long round logs. There were long ladders that slivered like snakes. There were wheels that we stood on that we had to make go round and round.

We stayed for lunch which gave us our energy for the last two activities.
We had an adventurist day.

what a tryathaion

Ready set go said Mr Taylor, zoom went the year ones as fast as there little legs could take them. As the whole school cheered, they jumped on their scooters it seemed like they had rockets on them as they dashed around court.

As they leaped in to the reafreshing water puffing like mad.they rapidly speed to the finish line. Next came the year 2s then so on to the year 8s.

First came green house then red ,blue then yellow.

It was so hot

Last Friday (11th) it was the Tryathlon. It was fun to swim on a hot day and the pool was nice and cold. We had to run 3 laps around the field and then bike 3 laps and then swim 4 laps of the pool it was really hard and we were tired.

The grass was hot and prickly and the ground was hard. We had to wear shoes if we were biking to protect our feet. when I went swimming my arms were tired, my legs were tired too.

And it took a long time.

The Tryathlon is On

On the 11.02.11,we had the school tryathlon. We zoomed around the field. We jumped on our bikes and we huffed and puffed and we zipped around the field. We leaped off our bikes and raced towards the sparkling pool. It was really warm! Then we sprinted to the finish. Then they announced the shield green house won. It was a long day. We were really proud of ourselves!

Tryatholon Run Bike Swim

On Friday the 11th of February it was the Mapua School Tryathlon."On your marks get set GO!" Shouted Mr Taylor. We ran with excitement . The grass was really prickly under our stomping feet. We hoped on our bikes and started peddling . Our little legs went round and round as we went over the bumpy grass . We through off our helmets racing towards the swimming pool. The pool was sparkling as we jumped into the refreshing water. " Yeah!" we have nearly finished the race. Off we went to the finish line as the crowd cheered ." WE HAVE FINISHED THE RACE!"Green came first, Second came Red , Followed by Blue ,last came Yellow. The years 1,2,3, and all up to year 8 thought it was great . We were all so proud of ourselves. Did you think we did well?

I cant belive it is the tryathlon. The year 2 boys were at the starting line. Mr. T said "ready set go" they ran off on the bumpy but grassy field. They sprinted to their scooters off they went. They zoomed to the swimming pool and dived in to the blue, clear water and started swimming then they got out and ran to the finish line. Mrs. Barnes and Lorraine put down their scores and houses yellow, green, blue or red. Next was the year 2 girls and they went on until it came to the year 4's and 5's. We dashed off on the prickly field. Then we jumped on to our bikes, just as our legs started to get wobbly we dropped our bikes and threw off our helmets and shoes and flopped into the blue, clear water. We swam our hearts out then we sprinted really hard to the finish line. Then finally it came to the year 8's. After the year 8's they gave out certificates, and they announced the winner of the house sheild. It was... green! red was second! blue was third! And yellow house was fourth! All of a sudden the bell rang for lunch. We all had a great rest of the day.

Tryathlon

Zoom, went the year 1's as they ran around the field. It was a boiling day so it was great to hop in the bubbling pool. After the year 2's came the year 3's then all the way to the year 8's. It was great day to have the tryathlon on. We all ran on the bumpy field in the amazing sun. The court was sun hot that it was badly burning the year 2 boys and the year 2 girls was zooming across the hot court on there fast scooters.The year 3's and 4's ran 2 laps, bike two laps, and swam two lengths.Then the year 5 and 6's ran 3 laps,bike 3 laps,and swam 4 lengths. Next the year 7 and 8's ran 4 laps, bike 4 laps and swam 4 lengths. Sadly yellow house came last, next blue house, then red house so it must be GREEN house.
GREEN HOUSE WON AGAIN!

Our Best Tryathlon Ever

This was the best Tryathlon ever!!!2 laps of biking,swimming and running tired year 4s out and even more so to the year 5s who had to do 4 laps instead.House points were given out to yellow who came last,blue who came 3rd,red who came 2nd and of course Green who came 1st .The children were amazed at how well they did that day.Parents watched as there children zoomed past.The children were extremely nervous as Mr T shouted 'ready, set, GO!' there glowing faces had huge smiles on them as they whizzed around the field, jumped on there bikes and speedily splashed around the glistening pool. As soon as they jumped out of the sparkling pool they zoomed as fast as they could to the finishing line to find there scores . After they had all finished they gave a certificat to 3rd 2nd and 1st in the year group . After they had all finished the parents went home and the children went and had lunch.
